A New Beginning, and exciting new Chapter.

Well, after coming home I didn’t think ‘dix-huit-mois’ would get another look in, after all there’s not much use for a title which is French for 18 months, even if we only got to 16, and we’re not planning (unfortunately) another European vacation anytime soon, but here we are, off again, and I can’t be bothered starting a new blog title and haven’t worked out how to retitle this one…so …

And then we were home…a match report!

And just like that we’re home. 16 months travelling Europe has come to an end, and reality slowly sets in. Rachael heads back to work, I twiddle my thumbs! We threatened to finish off the blog with a summary, a highlights package as it were, and so here it is. Since we’ve been back people have been asking us plenty of questions about our journey; from ‘favourite place’, ‘highlights’, ‘best …

And then there were Two. The quick run home.

It’s hard to believe our journey is coming to an end, after 467 days we only have 10 to go, how quickly the end has rushed towards us. Plenty of Russian brusqueness, American twang, and Chinese squawks, but precious little in the way of OZ…so to spend the next little while surrounded by it is going to be great, and strange. We’re off to the small village of Saint Martino …

Family Time in London & Paris, then back to Beaujolais

We’re back to London for a couple of nights to catch up with Jack & Georgie, who we haven’t seen for over a year, so very excited to see them. They are here for a wedding, so we planned our time around their trip, catching an early flight from Dublin to Heathrow to make the most of the day, that is until our bags went AWOL for an hour or …

Ireland, North & South, to be sure!

We left the magnificent lakes district, but not before another run through the beautiful rolling hills, saying farewell to our terrific host, Karen, and driving back to Glasgow to drop off our car, and fly to Belfast, our home for the next three nights. We met our host, Megan and her lovely labrador, Dougal, settled into our room, before heading through the local park and onto the lively strip of …
